Eurocopter has handed over five EC135s to Turkey’s THK Gokcen Aviation and on AS365 N3 to Japan’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency (FDMA). The EC135s, which entered service in August, are part of a 17-aircraft order from the Turkish Ministry of Health. THK and Saran Holding will operate the fleet under a five-year contract, with the remaining helicopters scheduled for delivery in spring 2014.

Japan’s FDMA will use the AS365 as a replacement for its BK117 C2, which was damaged in a 2011 earthquake. The helicopter will carry out firefighting, disaster relief, EMS transport and SAR missions in the Miyagi Prefecture.
