A MRH90 full flight and mission simulator (FFMS) from CAE is now operational at the Australian Army’s Aviation Training Center Oakey in Queensland. The Australian Defence Force has approved the trainer to Level D under Australian Civil Aviation Airworthiness (CASA) and Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR) standards. The FFMS becomes the first NH90 simulator to achieve Level D certification.

CAE is under contract to supply two simulators, engineering and support, as well as training facilities in cooperation with Eurocopter, RDE and Thales. The second FFMS is headed for the Royal Australian Air Force base at Townsville following Level D approval in early 2014.
