Bell Helicopter has issued a contract to Frasca International to supply an FAA Level B qualified simulator for its 407 series. The simulator will be used at Bell’s Customer Training Academy in Fort Worth, Texas, and will have capabilities to convert between the standard Bell 407 and 407 GX with the Garmin G1000 avionics system. Bell will use the simulator for initial aircraft qualification and instrument training at its academy. The simulator will be Frasca’s first FFS qualified to Level B in the United States.

In a separate development, the German Federal Police Air Support Group has received FTD 2 FNPT III MCC qualification for its Eurocopter EC155 helicopter flight training device (FTD). Urbana, Ill.-based Frasca built the EC155 FTD, which will receive the FTD 2 FNPT III MCC qualification from EASA. Frasca is currently working on a contract for several additional flight training devices.
