MD Helicopters is planning to hand over 14 new aircraft to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) during a ceremony on Friday. KRG officials will receive the dozen single-engine MD530Fs and a pair of twin-engine MD902 Explorers at MD's headquarters in Mesa, Ariz.

The MD530s come with an NVG-compatible cockpit and high-powered searchlight to aid with law enforcement and firefighting missions. The Explorers, which are equipped with weather radar technology and Category-A capability, will serve as VIP transports for senior government officials.

“We are honored that the Kurdistan Regional Government selected MD aircraft,” said Lynn Tilton, CEO of MD Helicopters. “The MD530F provides exceptional mission versatility, and proven hot and high performance; [and] the Explorer is the most capable, cost-effective and versatile light-twin in the market.”
