Haiti Air Ambulance Service has reached an agreement with Air Methods covering helicopter EMS in the Republic of Haiti. Denver-based Air Methods will supply a pair of Bell 407s, three pilots and two mechanics for the operation, which will initially fly during the daytime only for inter-facility hospital transports. As the country’s infrastructure develops, the companies anticipate expansion to include responding to accident scenes. Starting in first quarter 2014, the helicopters will begin services from a base in Port-au-Prince.
