Chinese Operators Purchase 123 from Airbus Helicopters

Airbus Helicopters has reached purchase agreements for 123 civil helicopters with three customers from China: Fujian Xinmei General Aviation Co. (GAC), Guangdong Baiyun GAC and Yunnan Fengxiang GAC. The helicopters ordered include light single-engine helicopters from the company’s Eurecil family as well as the EC135.

These companies will use the helicopters for general aviation practices such as utility work, tourism, transportation, business aviation, EMS and search and rescue.

Guangdong Baiyun GAC has placed an order for 50 helicopters, consisting of both Ecureuil and EC135 helicopters. An EC130 T2 from the Ecureuil family will be delivered this year, and the first three EC135 T2e airframes will arrive by April 2015. The remaining aircraft are expected for delivery in the next five years.

Fujian Xinmei GAC has ordered five AS350 B3e helicopters to be delivered this year, and has committed to purchase 50 additional units in the next six years.

Yunnan Fengxiang GAC, a new general aviation enterprise focused on investing and developing the business of utility operations, has purchased 18 units of the AS350 B3e, in addition to their two existing AS350 B3es. The first four helicopters are scheduled for delivery this year, with the remaining 14 aircraft expected in the next two years.
