AgustaWestland has expanded its presence in both South East Asia and Latin America, with new helicopter contracts in both regions. The rotorcraft manufacturer announced new contracts for three AW139s with various Indonesian operators and two AW139s with Helistar de Aviacion of Colombia.

The deal with Helistar de Aviacion of Colombia will mark the entrance into service of the first offshore AW139 in the Latin America region, AgustaWestland said. Delivery of the two AW139s is expected in 2015. Both helicopters will be used to support offshore oil and gas production missions.
The Indonesian AW139 contracts will also be used to support offshore oil and gas missions. The company credits the continued expansion of its presence in South East Asia to its subsidiary in the region, AgustaWestland Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which has headquarters, maintenance and support training facilities at Kuala Lumpur's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
According to AgustaWestland, over 800 AW139s have now been ordered worldwide by approximately 220 customers with more than 700 units currently in service.
