AgustaWestland has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on offset contracts with four major companies in the Polish industrial sector representing various regions and areas of expertise.

The official signing ceremony was held on Dec. 18, 2014 at the headquarters of AugustaWestland subsidiary PZL-Swidnik, and concluded several months worth of negotiating, preparing and finalizing the offset contracts.

Valued at nearly $980 million (€800 million), the MoUs are integral to AgustaWestland’s offset proposal for the Polish industry. The proposal is a part and parcel of PZL-Swidnik’s bid within the tender for the supply of 70 multi-role helicopters for the Polish Armed Forces, for which AgustaWestland has offered the AW149 helicopter.

Including these MoUs, AgustaWestland’s proposal for the Polish industry provides for the implementation of over 50 projects involving 25 foreign partners who will cooperate with close to 20 Polish enterprises within the AW149 program performed for the Polish MoD.
