A new long-term partnership has been formed to develop synthetic training systems and training programs for helicopter operators in Germany and internationally.

ADAC HEMS Academy and Reiser Simulation and Training will cooperate in developing training solutions that are particularly appropriate for HEMS crews. ADAC HEMS Academy is already well established internationally as an integrated training center for helicopter pilots, emergency doctors and rescue paramedics in air rescue services. Reiser, still a family owned company, specializes in the development, design and production of simulators and training media for pilots and maintainers.

“The central aim of the cooperation is most effective training for both the ADAC Luftrettung crews and a great number of further national and international helicopter operators,” said Dr. Roman Sperl, Reiser’s managing director.

Thomas Hütsch, managing director of ADAC HEMS Academy added that “special emphasis will be placed on development and design as well as on the long-term operation of valuable cutting edge training devices and tools.”

The first stage of the cooperation will focus on the development and production of a cockpit procedure trainer for the EC145 T2 helicopter. This is now being operated by ADAC Luftrettung and a procedure trainer would be particularly helpful for both type rating and recurrent training.
