Airbus Helicopters has concluded a three-month-long tour of offshore oil and gas support locations to demonstrate its super-medium class H175 to operators, with visits to Mexico, the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil. The final leg of the tour saw the H175 visit coastal cities that serve offshore platforms in Brazil’s Campos Basin. Among the operators serving that region are CHC’s Brazilian Helicopter Services Táxi Aéreo and Aeróleo Taxi Aéreo, and—through its recent acquisition of Air Amazonia—Erickson Inc. Worldwide, the offshore transport segment is still tightening its belt with oil prices at around $60+ per barrel, roughly half of what they were last year.
