Following what CEO Jeff Roberts described as a slow start to the U.S. and Greek fire seasons—resulting in an approximate $1.3-million drop in commercial aviation revenue—Erickson Inc. has bolstered its international firefighting portfolio with an extended two-year contract in Turkey. Pan Aviation has selected Erickson to provide emergency fire suppression support to the municipality of Istanbul and the surrounding areas in Turkey following a successful, 10-month trial period. A single, specialized S-64E Aircrane will be based at the Ataturk International Airport and can be immediately dispatched for fire and emergency calls anywhere in the greater Istanbul area. It also will be available for service in other regions in Turkey upon special request to the Municipality.
