Bell Helicopter has resumed flight tests of the first 525 Relentless prototype. Speaking at Helitech International in London, John Garrison said the flight test team had worked through "thousands of data points" from the prototype's first, low-speed flight on July 1 and used that and other data to refine the fly-by-wire helicopter's flight-control laws and systems—a typical process for such a project, according to several flight test experts. The prototype has achieved a level flight speed above 160 kt and 12,000 ft density altitude and has flown to bank angles of 30 deg., said Bell.
