Information collected by U.K. police forces shows a significant increase in public complaints about drones, according to The Guardian. According to data released in response to that news outlet's Freedom of Information request, for instance, Thames Valley police (one of Britain’s largest territorial forces) have logged 80 drone reports to date this year, a nearly threefold rise from the 21 recorded in 2014, rising to 80 this year. The Guardian said London’s Metropolitan Police have logged 21 reports this year, compared to one last year. Those reports have included land disputes between neighbors and efforts to smuggle drugs into a prison.
