State-owned aviation companies in Russia and China expect a contract by the middle of 2016 regarding their advanced heavy-lift helicopter (ALH) concept, rather than in 2015 as previously believed.

According to Sputnik International, officials with Russian state corporation Rostec said Wednesday that they expected to sign both a general contract and an intergovernmental agreement simultaneously with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) by mid-2016.
In May, Russian Helicopters, subsidiary of Rostec, and AVIC signed a framework cooperation agreement to introduce the ALH. AVIC later displayed a scale model at the China Helicopter Expo in Tianjin in September, revealing that it would weigh 38.2 tons, have a speed of 300 km/h, a range of 630 km and a practical ceiling of 5,700 m.
