At a ceremony held today at Stavanger, Norway, Thales officially opened its Norway Training Centre, unveiling the first of several planned helicopter training programs.
Having received both the EASA FSTD (Flight Simulation Training Devices Operator) Operator, and Level D qualification for its Reality H Full Flight Simulator, the Norway Training Centre begins training for the H225 helicopter this month with its launch customers, Blueway Offshore Norway AS and Dancopter in Denmark. The Royal Norwegian Air Force all will be using the center to train on its new AW101 helicopters.
Thales’s state-of-the-art Reality H based H225 simulator is equipped with the Hexaline all-electric motion system and a large field of view combined with the ThalesView visual system. For the first time, Thales will introduce its integrated search-and-rescue training capability.
Thales launched its training center network in France last year and plans to launch another in Australia later this year.
