VHA Gets FAA STC For Composite Blades

Van Horn Aviation [Booth 10733] has received supplemental type certificate from the FAA for its composite main rotor blades for the Bell 206B JetRanger. The blades have been approved with an 18,000-hr service life with overhauls every 2,800 hr. They use the carbon fiber materials and construction methods similar to the company's 206B/L tail rotor blades, which have been available since 2009.
