Despite military budget cuts, Qatar is moving forward with more helicopter purchases.

The U.S. Defense Dept. said this week that Boeing has been awarded a $667,522,500 contract to provide 24 AH-64E Apache helicopters to Qatar. The agreement also calls for the supply of a Longbow crew trainer, ground support equipment and Thales radios.

Work is expected to be completed at the manufacturer's Mesa, Arizona, facility by May 2020.
