Erickson's Bell Helicopter 212s will transport staff and equipment from the Coast Guard Research and Development Center in New London, Connecticut, to various areas in Nome, Alaska, until August.

The operator has many activities supporting various needs in Alaska. Earlier this month, it has been contracted to provide transportation in support of the Alaska Dept. of Natural Resources Forest Inventory Analysis project. It also received two firefighting contracts.

The company recently said it is exploring "strategic alternatives" for its current operations, organization and financing after a two-year slump in its business activities.
