The 281st Assault Helicopter Co. Assn. will be recognized as the U.S. Army's first special operations helicopter company. It had served in Nha Trang, Vietnam, between 1965 and 1970. A plaque dedication ceremony will honor the recognition Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Meadows Field near the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Headquarters in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. The ceremony will be held in conjunction with the unit's reunion event planned for Oct. 6 to 8.

There will be about 100 surviving members of the unit, along with family members, in attendance.
