Following the Connecticut General Assembly's vote to keep Sikorsky instate, the Stratford facility was awarded a $91.8 million Army modification contract on Sept. 30. Saudi Arabia will exercise an option for eight utility Sikorsky helicopters. The Defense Dept. announcement does not go into detail about the type of aircraft or specific operator.

The original contract was signed June 6, 2012. Multiple sources cite the contract as being valued at more than $7 billion for H-60s. This contract has been modified hundreds of times, with multiple customers being serviced. Customers include the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, the FBI, the Mexican Navy and forces in Jordan. The contract has an end date of Dec. 31, 2017.
