Fears Mount That GKN Jobs Making Navy Helicopters Could go to Italy

Hundreds of highly skilled manufacturing jobs producing Wildcat helicopters for the Royal Navy in Somerset could be sent abroad, it has emerged. Italian business Leonardo Helicopters, which builds the aircraft at its Yeovil plant, has told subcontractor GKN that it is taking the work back in house, putting 230 jobs at the FTSE 100 business under threat.
