Airbus Helicopters' H135 family turns 20 this year, celebrating more than 300 customers in 75 countries. H135 rotorcraft are flown in support of emergency medical services, law enforcement, corporate transport, offshore wind and military flight training.
In 2017, the H135 family will be integrated with the company’s Helionix avionics suite. It will gain the same cockpit system with four-axis autopilot that the H175 and H145 families already possess. In the coming weeks, the H135 Helionix will receive EASA certification. The UK’s Ascent Flight Training will be the first customer to receive an updated H135 fleet to be used as part of the Military Flying Training System.
The H135 family is still breaking into new markets. Earlier this year, 100 H135s were purchased by a number of companies in China. This light-twin, multi-mission helicopter has achieved 4 million flight hours in its 20 years.
