Australian emergency service helicopter operator Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was the victim of a robbery after two generators were stolen from its secure Lismore facility.

Local news reports said bolt-cutters were used to gain entrance into the base sometime between 4 p.m. last Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. One Yamaha generator and one Honda GH7000 generator were stolen. The Lismore Police Department is currently investigating.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a nonprofit organization and relies on financial support from the community and the corporate sector. The organization currently operates a fleet of two Bell Helicopter 412 SPs and two MBB (now Airbus Helicopters Deutschland GmbH)/Kawasaki BK117s.
