Airbus Helicopters' H225M Caracal is officially outfitted for naval combat, the company said. Developed an assembled onsite at its Brazilian subsidiary, Helibras, the H225Ms were designed to meet the requirements of the Brazilian Navy.

The newly unveiled helicopter, which will be the first to be delivered, was presented in Itajubá, Brazil, earlier this week. It features a tactical mission system developed by Helibras, which includes an APS-143 surveillance radar, self-protection systems and other intelligence capabilities. For combat, the H225M has two anti-ship missiles, a sensor operator console in the cargo bay and an automatic identification system (AIS).

The Brazilian Navy will receive its first naval combat H225M in 2018, as it still needs to complete military certification trials. It’s part of an order for 50 Caracals for the Brazilian armed forces. So far, over half have already been delivered.
