PT Dirgantara Indonesia has three new Airbus Helicopters AS565 MBe Panthers in its fleet, Airbus said. This delivery is the first for a contract signed in late 2014, with eight more Panthers to come through 2018. The delivery came ahead of schedule, the company said..

PT Dirgantara Indonesia acts as the design authority. At its facilities, the rotorcraft are to undergo reassembly and outfitting, like the installation of an anti-submarine warfare suite, to prepare them for service with the Indonesian navy. They then would be submitted for qualification and certification. Over the last 40 years, Airbus and PT Dirgantara Indonesia have delivered more than 190 helicopters through joint programs.

The Panther is powered by two Safran Arriel 2N engines, allowing it to reach a top speed of 165 knots and a range of 780 kilometers. The helicopter features a new main gearbox and tail rotor installations and a four-axis autopilot.
