Poland has an urgent operational need to buy helicopters for its armed forces and is currently accepting bids, Reuters reported. The Polish Defense Ministry is looking to purchase 14 helicopters as part of an effort to spend more than $14 billion between 2017 and 2022 to modernize the armed forced.

This comes after the dissolution of an agreement to purchase Airbus Helicopters H225M Caracals. In the absence of a purchase agreement, the Polish Ministry tapped Sikorsky’s Polish facility, PZL Mielec, for 10 Black Hawks. However, Poland reportedly invited Airbus, Sikorsky and Leonardo back to the table to talk about another possible purchase agreement.
