For some $39.6 million, Raytheon Co., Space and Airborne Systems is to provide support for the Sikorsky H-60 Sea Hawk, the U.S. Dept. of Defense said Dec. 13. The award covers two operators: the U.S. Navy and Saudi Arabia.
This Defense Logistics Agency contract expires on Sept. 30, 2018. Work is assigned to Raytheon’s McKinney, Texas, facility. A sole-source acquisition, this contract is the product of negotiation in lieu of competitive bidding.

The U.S. Navy’s Sea Hawk models are the MG-60S and MH-60R. The Sikorsky MH-60S specializes in combat support, humanitarian disaster relief, medevac, SPECWAR and organic airborne mine countermeasures operations. The MH-60R specializes in anti-submarine warfare, surveillance, communications relay, naval gunfire support and logistics support missions. Both can perform anti-surface warfare and combat search and rescue operations.
