The first of two public hearings for a publicly run helipad in Boston is set for Jan. 30, according to local news outlets. After announcing members of a helipad task force, the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation set dates for public hearings. The second is planned for Feb. 6.
As part of an incentive package aimed at General Electric, Massachusetts state officials presented the idea for a publicly run helipad. Of its total worth at $145 million, the incentive package could allocate some $100 million to the helipad’s construction. The designated location for the helipad would be on a pier or in the water as a floating helipad in the Seaport.
