The largest Bell Helicopter 505 Jet Ranger X operator in the world is Reignwood Investment Ltd., Bell said at Heli-Expo. Based in China, the operator is set to receive 50 of the model over three years, in addition to 10 that were previously ordered. Reignwood also operates the Bell 206, Bell 407GX and Bell 429.

“We are excited to be celebrating this milestone with our friends at Bell Helicopter and are eager to begin operating our fleet of Bell 505s,” said Galba Zheng, chairman of Reignwood Aviation. “Our partnership with Bell Helicopter is very important to us, and they have proven their aircraft and customer support and service to be outstanding.”

The Bell 505 is also set to receive support from Safran Helicopter Engines, Safran said. Bell’s training academy operates two of the aircraft, which are powered by Safran’s Arrius 2R engines. This makes Bell the first Safran 5Star Plans customer.

“We are very proud to offer our brand new 5Star Plans contract to Bell Helicopter Training Academy to cover the Arrius 2R,” said Franck Saudo, Safran Helicopter Engines EVP of Support and Services. “It is perfectly tailored to support their demanding training missions where maximizing aircraft availability is a key parameter.”

5Star Plans is dedicated to customers operating up to five helicopters. Under it, Safran offers five different levels of services, including both scheduled and unscheduled events, standard exchange, by-the-hour support and other items.
