XTI Aircraft Co. has received a written notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office stating that the company’s TriFan 600 is set to receive a utility patent, XTI said. This is the company’s second patent.
“This is another important milestone for the company,” said Robert LaBelle, XTI’s CEO. “Issuance of this patent not only further validates the TriFan 600, it also means that our technology has an enhanced level of protection against potential competitors. That additional barrier to entry benefits the company and all its shareholders.”
The company filed 20 technologies in its May 2015 patent application, describing mechanical operation and configuration.
The patent grant comes nearly a month after XTI said it is collaborating with Bye Aerospace for hybrid-electric propulsion.
