HAL Sees Record Turnover in FY 2016

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.’s (HAL) financial year ended March 31. The company reported “the highest ever turnover” at roughly $26.1 billion during the 2016-2017 financial year.

During the previous financial year, HAL reported total sales of $25.1 billion. Orders in financial year 2016-2017 were worth about $31.5 billion. The company said highlights from financial year 2016-2017 include:

  • Overhauling 197 aircraft/helicopters
  • Overhauling 473 engines
  • Production of 178 new aero-structures
  • Orders for 32 advanced light helicopter (ALH) for the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard
  • Maiden flight of the light utility helicopter (LUH)
  • Launched metal cutting for 1200kW tourboshaft engine (HTSE 1200)
