Airbus Helicopters’ H145M has taken its first flight with a complete HForce weapon system, the manufacturer said. The flight occurred in Donauwörth, Germany.

The Airbus-designed HForce system allows the H145M to be quipped with a variety of guided and ballistic armaments. It can be used on the H125, H145M and H225M. Qualification of the system for use on the H145M is planned for next year.

“The next steps prior to qualification include a firing campaign, testing the whole fire mission spectrum through guns, cannons and rockets in Hungary as well as tests on the laser-guided rockets in Sweden before the end of the year,” said Jean-Luc André, HForce PM at Airbus Helicopters. “As the launch customer for the H145M with the HForce weapon system, the Republic of Serbia has ordered nine H145M aircraft, including four attack helicopters equipped with HForce.”

As military version of the H145, the H145M can be used for missions including armed reconnaissance, ground fire support, escort, tactical transport, medevac and casualty evacuation. Germany received its 15th H145M in June. Other customers include Serbia and Thailand.
