Robinson Helicopter Co.’s R66 and R44 can now be fitted with Garmin’s G500H TXi displays. The manufacturer said Wednesday it is offering the Garmin Display Unit (GDU) 1060 TXi and GDU 700L TXi.
The two TXi displays add touchscreen functionality to Garmin’s G500H system, Robinson said, and consolidate primary function display/multifunction display information on to a single screen. The upgraded displays can interface with Garmin’s GTN 6xx/7xx touchscreen GPS series.
Garmins’ 1060 is a 10.6-inch display which gets installed in Robinson’s large G500H console with room beneath for any Garmin GTN 6xx/7xx and Genesys SAS/autopilot, according to Robinson.
The GDU 700L TXi is a 7-inch display installed in Robinson’s new compact console with room beneath for any Garmin GTN 6xx, the manufacturer said. The new landscape-oriented display was designed specifically for Robinson. It allows the pilot to switch between a full-screen primary function display or full-screen moving map and the configuration eliminates the need for a separate GTN GPS console in front of the pilot.
With the option for synthetic vision, both displays support the same optional equipment interfaces as the non-touchscreen G500H display.
