Leonardo CEO Alessandro Profumo wants to keep the Italian OEM’s U.K.-based helicopter manufacturing facility open. But more orders for the models produced there, the AW101 Merlin naval transport and the AW159 Wildcat anti-submarine model, are needed for him to do so.

During an interview with Bloomberg, Profumo outlined the challenges Leonardo is facing in keeping its facility based in Yeovil, England, open. The facility employs 3,000 workers.
