A customer in the Latin American market has placed the region's first order for an Airbus Helicopters H160.

The aircraft will be used for private and business operations under the unnamed customer. According to Airbus, the order came as a result of a flight demonstration of the aircraft at its headquarters in Marignane, France.

Airbus' latest model aircraft was designed for private and business aviation, oil and gas transport, and emergency medical and public services. Airbus touts its sound-reducing Blue Edge blades and Helionix suite toward a truly digital, connected focus.

The manufacturer received its first North American order from an unnamed corporate aviation customer last month. It announced Babcock International has placed the company's first global order for a fleet of H160s for emergency medical services.

The H160 is currently on a demo and certification testing tour across North America until July.
