In this podcast episode, we spoke to United Rotorcraft, Sikorsky and the Los Angeles County Fire Department on all things Firehawk upgrades and mission performance.

LA County Fire Department received two Sikorsky S-70i Firehawks as part of a replacement program for its old Bell 412. The aircraft are expected to serve in the 2019 fire season.

Other fire units in the state are showing interest toward the Fire hawks — there’s California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire, that recently awarded United Rotorcraft a 5-year contract to deliver customized versions of the Fire hawk.
