Oldest Italian Operator Adds Third AW169 via LCI

Lease Corporation International (LCI), Libra Group's aviation division, delivered a third new Leonardo AW169 to Italy's Elitaliana for emergency medical services (EMS) missions.

Elitaliana's two other AW169s were delivered in 2016 and 2017, operating from its EMS bases in Rome and Lazio. It is Italy's oldest helicopter company since its founding in 1964, according to the company's website.


The company provides services including EMS, offshore transport, environmental monitoring, firefighting and search and rescue.

Elitaliana serves areas of Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo. In addition to its EMS bases, the company has bases in the Calabria and Lazio regions.

Its fleet comprises a mixture of other type helicopters, including the AW109, Bell 206 Jet Ranger II, Robinson R22 Beta II, among others.
