Kaman Aerosystems will offer its K-MAX helicopter and composite assemblies thanks to two new agreements made this month with leasing company Rainier Heli International and Bell.
Rainier will lease K-MAX helicopters to customers for various missions. Rainier, the global leasing arm of the Halvorson group, leases a fleet of light, medium-twin and heavy helicopters. It has operated K-MAXs in the United States for more than 20 years in firefighting and utility missions.
“We expect this partnership will allow us to further penetrate emerging markets around the world with new production aircraft through a new financing alternative," said Roger Wassmuth, Kaman's senior director of business development.
"As a current owner operator of multiple helicopters, we understand the outstanding value proposition K-MAX offers to the external lift market, including firefighting and power line construction,” said Lon Halvorson, CEO of Rainier.
Earlier this month, Bell signed a purchasing agreement for Kaman to build composite assemblies for the Bell 407, 409 and 412. Production will continue into 2022.
