The FlightSafety Learning Center in Denver, Colorado will be receiving a new Level D full flight simulator for the Airbus EC145 early next year, according to FlightSafety International and Air Methods.

The EC145 simulator will be equipped with the VITAL 1100 visual system, CrewView glass mirror display, electric motion control and cueing and an instructor operating station. It will be used primarily by Air Methods to train pilots for the air medical transportation company’s fleet of 450 rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft, but FlightSafety will also offer training to other EC145 operators.

The learning center, which opened in 2016, is currently equipped with FlightSafety simulators for the Airbus AS350 B3, EC130T2, EC135 and Bell 407GX helicopters.

“We appreciate the opportunity to expand the services and support we provide to Air Methods at our Denver Center with this new EC145 simulator,” said David Davenport, co-CEO and commercial president of FlightSafety. “Air Methods is a highly valued partner that shares our commitment to enhance helicopter safety.”

The new EC145 simulator will replace one that Air Methods pilots have been training on in Shreveport, Louisiana.
